Latest news: 29/11/2011 - SIEF formation initiated. Invitation to pre-SIEF members sent.
Brief description of the substanceSoybean oil, deodorizer distillates is a complex combination obtained by distillation of soybean oil in a deodorizer, followed by condensation of the vapor. The composition of this substance varies depending on characteristics of the soybean oil feedstock and the process efficiency of the deodorizer. It is composed of 0-80% glycerides and 15-95% fatty acids (including their esters), 0-60% unsaponifiable matter, e.g. tocopherols, sterols, sterol esters and hydrocarbons, e.g. squalene. The glycerides and fatty acids (including their esters) are characterised by linear alkyl chain lengths typically in the range of C16 and C18, including C18-unsaturated and the exact distribution depends on the oil feedstock. Specification for samenessThe REVODS Consortium prepared the following Specification for the identification and generic composition of the substance. For additional information on the substance, please refer to the generic webpage for distillates and other derivatives mentionned above.
