EC 272-911-3: Glycerides, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., deodorizer distillatesThis is the SIEF Communication platform for the substance identified in the EC Inventory (former EINECS) as follows:
Latest news: September 7th, 2012 - Lead Registrant SAIPOL received confirmation that the Joint Dossier successfully reached the end of the pipeline and is considered complete.
Brief description of the substanceGlycerides, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., deodorizer distillates is a complex combination obtained by distillation of oils with carbon-chain distribution C16-18, and C18-unsatd in a deodorizer, followed by condensation of the vapor. The composition of this substance varies depending on the vegetable oil feedstock type and the process efficiency of the deodorizer. It is composed of 0-80% glycerides and 15-95% fatty acids (including their esters), 0-40% unsaponifiable matter, e.g. tocopherols, sterols, sterol esters and hydrocarbons, e.g. squalene. The glycerides and fatty acids are characterised by linear alkyl chain lengths between C16 and C18, including C18-unsatd. and the exact distribution also depends on the vegetable oil feedstock. Rules of the SDA Naming system must be applied to characterize the feedstock. Oils distilled for the production of Glycerides, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., deodorizer distillates must correspond to the following substance :
It is the obligation of all potential registrants to determine the correct alkyl chain descriptor for the substances that they intend to register, and not to assume equivalence of their substances with a substance produced by another Legal Entity. Specification for samenessThe REVODS Consortium prepared the following Specification for the identification and generic composition of the substance. For additional information on the substance, please refer to the generic webpage for distillates and other derivatives mentionned above. Lead RegistrantThe following company is the Lead Registrant: SAIPOL SAS Paper correspondence (including paper copies of the signed SIEF Agreement) shall be sent to: SIEF AgreementA SIEF Agreement is available for signature between each applicant SIEF participant and the Lead Registrant. SIEF membership is confirmed as soon as the Agreement is signed by both the applicant SIEF Member and the Lead Registrant of the SIEF. Applicants are invited to send two paper copies of the appended SIEF Agreement, filled in with the relevant details and signed by a duly authorized representative, to the Lead Registrant at the postal address mentioned in this SIEF page. The Lead Registrant will then sign these documents: one copy will be sent back to the applicant, and the other will be retained for the archives. Letter of Access (LoA)Access to the Joint Submission of this Substance is granted by the Lead Registrant to SIEF Members that have purchased a Letter of Access (LoA) on individual basis per legal entity. Joint Submission name and security token are provided to those companies that have:
By fulfilling these two conditions, the SIEF Member will be granted access to the Joint Submission of this Substance. The Member of the Joint Submission remains responsible for confirming his Joint Submission membership in REACH-IT. Member is also responsible for the preparation and the submission of part of the dossier that is not submitted jointly. Estimation of costs is pending. SIEF history
