Substances covered by the Consortium

It is possible that, investigating exemption opportunities, the Consortium will not pursue Registration for some of the substances mentionned below. This section of the website will be populated progressively as registration strategies are finalized for the different groups, you are advised to check regularly for updates and new pages.

The substance groups represented by the REVODS Consortium are:

  • Unmodified oils & fats
These are crude or (semi) refined oils and fats obtained from nature, that do not undergo chemical modifications. Fractionated oils and fats are included in this category.
  • Modified oils & fats
These oils and fats went through a process leading to a chemical modification. For instance: hydrogenation, etc.
  • Soapstocks and acidulated soapstocks (“acid oils”)
Soapstocks are by-products obtained from the alkali refining of the oils and fats. Acidulated soapstocks, also known as acid oils, are obtained through the soapstocks splitting by acidulation.
  • Distillates
These distillates are by-products obtained during steam distillation of oils and fats: deodorizer distillates, fatty acid distillates, etc.
  • Other substances
    See table
